Privacy Policy

Privacy statement

At ItemAtlas, we respect your rights to privacy and are committed to protecting the privacy of our all our customers and visitors.

Authorized ItemAtlas employees may use any information collected from individual customers on a need to know basis only. We are committed to reviewing our systems and data to ensure the best possible service to our customers. Parliament has created specific offences for unauthorised actions against computer systems and data. We will investigate any such actions with a view to prosecuting and/or taking civil proceedings to recover damages against those responsible.

Confidentiality

We are registered under the Data Protection Act 1998 and as such, any information concerning the customer and their respective customer records may be passed to third parties. However, customer records are regarded as confidential and therefore will not be divulged to any third party, other than sellers if legally required to do so to the appropriate authorities. Customers have the right to request sight of, and copies of any and all Customer Records we keep, on the proviso that we are given reasonable notice of such a request. Customers are requested to retain copies of any literature issued in relation to the provision of our services. Where appropriate, we shall issue customer’s with appropriate written information or copies of records as part of an agreed contract, for the benefit of both parties.

We will not sell, share, or rent your personal information to any third party or use your e-mail address for unsolicited mail. Any emails sent by Item ATLAS will only be in connection with the provision of agreed services and products.

What personal data we collect and why

There are many aspects of the site which can be viewed without providing personal information, however, to buy or sell an item and for access to future Item Atlas customer support features, you are required to submit personally identifiable information. This may include but not limited to a unique username, password, or other sensitive information provided to us in the recovery of your lost password.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site, you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience, so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited another website.

Where we send your data

How long we retain your data

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

If you have placed an order, we retain your name, billing address, delivery address, email address and phone number.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal or security purposes.

Personal information use

For each visitor to reach the site, we expressively collect the following non-personally identifiable information, including but not limited to browser type, version and language, operating system, pages viewed while browsing the site, page access times and referring website address. This collected information is used solely internally for the purpose of gauging visitor traffic, trends and delivering personalized content to you while you are at this site.

From time to time, we may use customer information for new and unanticipated uses, not previously disclosed in our privacy notice. If our information practices change in the future, we will use customer information for these new purposes only. All data collection will adhere to our updated practices.

Privacy policy changes

ItemAtlas reserves the right to make amendments to the Privacy Policy at any time. If you have objections to the Privacy Policy, you should not access or use our site.

Personal information access

You have the right to access your personal information, subject to exceptions allowed by law. If you would like to do so, please let us know. You may be required to put your request in writing for security reasons. Item ATLAS reserves the right to charge a fee for searching for and providing access to your information on a per request basis.
